Heather’s lifelong passion for helping children in need led her to begin volunteering with homeless youth outreach in 2009. She served as Volunteer Director for another non-profit in San Diego for seven years before starting Youth Assistance Coalition in mid 2017. Heather was inspired by her belief that there were gaps in the system for our homeless and at-risk youth. Heather’s dream was to build partnerships and a team that could help fill those gaps in services.

Heather is a San Diego native with a long history of service to the community. She is a small business owner and is a dedicated mother, wife and grandmother. She has worked tirelessly in the field of women’s recovery and rehabilitation for over two decades, volunteering with a number of county, state and private local entities to assist women and mothers with histories of substance/alcohol abuse, homelessness and domestic violence to get back on their feet. She has served on the Board of Directors for Turning Point Home and has done extensive work with other recovery facilities as well.
